Floral denim is just about the only piece of a spring mother nature is allowing to be introduced into my wardrobe. I promise I'll stop complaining whenever the weather starts cooperating. Until then, the expression in photo #2 will be painted on my face. Silver lining: it's Friday. Happy weekend, all.

If you haven't noticed (here & here and here & here to name a few), I've been working to remix different items in my wardrobe this year to a) curb my shopping excessiveness and b) hopefully inspire you to wear different items of your own in new and unexpected ways. I threw a sweater on over this dress, first photographed here, and these booties to do exactly that for a more casual/comfy look last weekend. Also, a very happy birthday to my loving mother today. Counting down the minutes till I go home to celebrate in a couple weekends. Happy Birthday, Mom!

As promised yesterday, here's yet another Forever 21 'Looks for Less.' I saw it in the store a couple weeks ago and reminded me a lot of this $996 Alice & Olivia one (also this one) and this $483 One one. Dressed it down last weekend (because it was $22.80) with this scarf, these booties and layered a leather jacket for dinner and drinks in the Lower East Side...aaaaannndd I think I'll be wearing it again this weekend because it's supposed to get up to almost 60!? Yespleasethankyoumam.

T-Shirt Dress

I've had this t-shirt dress for as long as I can remember (which is not very long) and have worn previously with sandals. Threw on a pair of booties instead for a day full of errand running (literally) to tie up a bunch of loose ends before I left for Europe a couple weekends ago.

Perhaps the best summer maxi I own, this dress has treated me well the past couple months for al fresco dinners, concerts in the park and rooftop drinks alike. So comfortable I could sleep in it and have more than once, in fact. Paired here with another summer staple...these Sam Edelman booties that you're probably sick of hearing about by now.

Free People Fanatic

I made my first Free People purchase before my trip to Austin (I swear I'll shut up about Austin soon) and haven't been able to stop since. I was struggling the last couple months to find a pair of jorts that weren't way too short and these were perfect. Next to the shorts was this tank and once I saw the back...just had to have it. To finish it off, I paired everything with these booties that I have not been able to take off since I bought them a couple weeks ago. They have proven to be the perfect shoe to slip on to go to the beach, run errands around the city, go out at night, etc.

I originally ordered this Free People dress in anticipation of my Austin trip however it didn't come in time. As hard as I tried to refrain from opening the box, it somehow found its way out and onto my body. Hate when that happens. I've worn it the last two weekends with these boots (which I'm obsessed with and wear everywhere now) and wish I could be wearing it on a scorcher like today. The lightweight jersey knit couldn't be more comfortable and the double side-slits/strappy detailing below each arm hole all combine to make it is perfect casual summer dress.
