(lace) Dress & a (fur) Vest

Dolce Vita Dress |  Michael Kors Fur Vest (similar on sale here) | Balenciaga Bag | Frye Boots

I told you about this outfit here...but why not show you. Switched up this dress by adding a fur vest and these boots for a winter look. And I didn't lug my big camera around this weekend (my cell phone was actually dead for a portion of it, which was a nice change of pace) so this post will serve as a 'Weekend Update' substitute. Hopefully your post-Super Bowl Monday is relatively painless but before I sign off, lets discuss: how amazing was Beyonce? Holy lord. And of the few commercials I saw, God Made a Farmer...best...but could be because I come from one. Good day.

Creme Valentina

Dolce Vita Dress | Aldo Sandals | Unknown Bag (knockoff from Thailand) | H&M Swimsuit & Earrings

So all that 'vitamin D overdose' talk last Friday really bit me in the you-know-what...because pretty much the only time the sun came out I was either sleeping early in the morning or getting ready for the next wedding-related event late in the afternoon. That didn't stop me from wearing my swimsuit any and everywhere I went...holding out hope for a break in the clouds. Like, for example, wearing this one under this dress as pictured. I've worn the same dress a couple different times in the city (where it's not 75 degrees) with a fur vest, black tights and tall cognac-colored boots and plan on packing it in my suitcase tonight in advance of tomorrow's flight to Chicago for Christmas. JOY!

Greeny

Zara Dress (still on sale in some NYC stores) | Dolce Vita for Target Wedges | Forever 21 Bag

I tried to name this post 'Neon Lace'...but Blogger informed me I'd been there, done that and wouldn't let me publish it. Bringing me to the current title, which is pretty self explanatory unless you're color blind or something. But it is also my Dad's nickname. Now normally I would say Greeny doesn't have the fashion sense God gave a goose...unless Carharts, flannel shirts, (xxxl) flat-billed John Deere & AgriGold hats, and cut off bib-overalls (or 'swimming trunks' which he so elegantly pairs with Redwing work boots & white tube socks) are considered fashionable. But I've gotta hand it to him...because I've witnessed many a NYC hipster wearing most if not all of the above in one form or another. And with Greeny setting trends, hell should be freezing over at any given moment.

Little Denim Dress

Free People Dress | H&M Earrings | ASOS BraceletsDolce Vita Sandals (on sale here!)

One would think Free People is a Shanelé sponsor this summer; unfortunately that is not the case. But they sure do have some great summer dresses, like this one, that all seem to fit perfectly. I paired it with my favorite new sandals, which are on major sale here, for an Engagement party in Chicago and again for a low key night of dinner and drinks in the city last Friday.

Birthday Wish

Dolce Vita Magg Cutout Sandals
These sandals have been on my mind constantly since seeing them a couple months ago and hold the #1 spot on my birthday wish list...just let me know if you would like my address to ship them to me. Otherwise, I might just have to by them myself. I would suspect I will be out of pocket tomorrow given the holiday/bday festivities but we'll see you again on Thursday. Happy Fourth!

Lace Romper

Dolce Vita Romper | Marc Fischer Sandals | Zara Bag

Apologies for the unintended blogging hiatus. There proved to be no time last week when I was out of town and I have yet to set up internet in my new apartment. Anywho, I scored this lace romper on mega sale at Urban Outfitters (more sizes available here) a couple weeks ago and wore it this weekend to a birthday gathering at Zombie Hut in Brooklyn. Paired with a denim jacket, it proved to be the perfect combo to enjoy a couple celebratory cocktails (spicy cucumber margaritas...yes, please) on the outdoor patio on a picture perfect night.
