Ice, Ice Blue

H&M Lace Top, Pants,  Bag & Necklace | Zara Fur Coat | Vintage Nude Heels

And for the last of the fashion week looks: a monochromatic powder blue ensemble brought to you in part (or whole in this case) by H&M. The light blue hues and lucite necklace served to mimic the ice that I not-so-gracefully skated around on all day for the Jen Kao, Herve Leger and Alexander Wang shows. Special thanks to my dear friend Kat for snapping these photos. Have a great weekend!

3 Fall Essentials

Vintage Blouse (similar here) | H&M Leather Shorts (similar here and here) | Zara Booties | clutch from open air market in Italy

Leather shorts (others here), cream colored blouse and booties: three things we all need for fall. Throw on a fur vest and tights and you're ready for winter. Switch the blouse out for a gray tee come spring and a white tank come summer. See how good I am at justifying clothing purchases? Easily transitional pieces such as these make it easy but I can do it with just about anything. Let me know if I can ever be of assistance in this way.

Avignon

Thrifted Top (Beacon's Closet) | Urban Outfitters Jeans | H&M Panama Hat | Aldo Sandals

Following St. Tropez, we stayed one night each in Aix-en-Provence and Avignon...trying out different family-owned Domaines (vineyards) in the country by day and exploring/having dinner in the cities at night. These photos in particular are from Chateauneuf-du-Pape just slightly north of Avignon in the Rhone wine region, known for its rich red wines that are often high in alcohol content. Needless to say, I picked up about a half dozen bottles before heading on to Lyon.

Something (Sparkly) Blue

BCBG MaxAzria Dress | Milly Bag | Zara Heels | Vintage Earrings & Bracelets

(yes, I realize this photo doesn't go with the series but I loved this staircase}
Wore this sparkly little BCBG number to the actual wedding in Stresa, Italy the other week. It reminded me of the sequin J. Crew maxi skirt from a couple seasons ago that I desperately wanted but simply could not justify. Worn here with fuchsia nails & lips and probably my favorite pair of black heels ever. Which were also the only heels I brought on the two-week trip given they go with just about everything. Nevermind the fact that they were only $59.99 (no longer available but I'll keep an eye out for a close substitute).

Suit Slash Shirt

Vintage One Piece (Beacon's Closet) | H&M Maxi & Sunnies | Forever 21 Sandals

At $10, this vintage one piece may have been one of the best buys of the summer. On the beach, to the bar...it works on its own as a swim suit to lay out, with jorts during the day or paired a black maxi to transition into night. A prime example of an easily adaptable NY outfit. What are some of your favorite day-to-night outfit tricks?

l'Orange et Rouge

Vintage Skirt (similar but better here) & Bag | Necessary Clothing Top | Zara Flats | Anthropologie (necklace worn as) Bracelet

Well, we made it through another one folks. Counting down the minutes till I'm back home in Illinois next Friday but until then will leave you with a little outfit post. Whether it's Easter, Passover or any other holiday I'm missing, have a great one this weekend! xo.

Purple Palette

H&M Shirt (very similar here) & Pants (similar but much better here) | Vintage Heels (I'd rather have these) | Zara Coat (similar here) & Bag (similar here) | Anthropologie Necklace (similar that would have gone well too here & here) | Forever 21 Ring

Pink and purple have long been one of my favorite color combos but I don't think I've worn it since I was little. I mean, young. There was nothing little about me when I was younger [that Large Marge in the Hornets jersey and turtleneck is yours truly]. But now that I live in NYC and monochromatic looks are everywhere, I figured no better time than now to pair this bright purple H&M top (similar here) with these pinkish/lavender pants (similar here) and light pink heels (similar here).

Minty Fresh

Urban Outfitters Sweater | Zara Pants & Bag | Vintage Heels

I first highlighted my love for mint here and feel like I've constantly been mixing it in my wardrobe since. Taking off work yesterday for IFBcon ended up one of the best decisions ever. I met so many other sweet and talented bloggers as well as some of my all time favorites (i.e. Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere). And now Fashion Week is underway and my best friends Audrey & Jenn are on en route to New York for the festivities. Must start scheming ways to sneak into shows. Fingers crossed we're successful.

Mixed Prints

Shirt, skirt - J. Crew / Necklace - Forever 21 / Wedges, belt - Zara / Bag - Vintage

I went out on a limb yesterday and mixed two of my J. Crew fall purchases, this leopard skirt and plaid shirt, together for work. Sure, I got some looks from the banker guys in their always blue shirts / black slacks but I kind of take that as a compliment.

Forest Hues

Velvet tee - Zara / Cardigan - Club Monaco / Skirt - Vintage / Heels, Bag - Forever 21

I found this skirt at a nearby vintage store a month ago and it has quickly made it into my work wardrobe rotation this fall. I pinned this fur stole on an old Club Monaco cardigan to jazz it up a little...something I've found myself doing quite a bit lately on various clothing items.
