Derby Darlings

Nothing says Kentucky Derby like fabulously gigantic and vibrant hats. While I loved those that were large and in charge, Marissa Miller and Vanessa Minnillo's smaller, tamer versions were two of my favorites this year. However, nothing tops the 'Looks for Less' version in the last photo.

Two of my favorite trends of the season, maxi dresses and denim jackets, paired nicely for Mother's Day brunch on Sunday. This dress, as featured in my 'Coachella Fashion Faves' post, is still available here. Yes, it doesn't look like much online but hopefully these pics do it a little more justice. You can't really go wrong with a flowy white maxi for under $25 either. Contrary to your current thinking, I do not collect royalties for each time I post or mention F21. Sure seems to come up a lot though, doesn't it? Being the sucker for deals that I am, things just happen that way.

Weekend Update - 5/8/2011

A lovely weekend was spent enjoying the weather, attending the one-year anniversary party of Benrimon Contemporary gallery and complete with a picture perfect Mother's Day brunch prepared by the bf's brother and sister-in-law...who, together, could honestly show Martha Stewart a thing or two about hosting a brunch, dinner...well, really any party. Everything from the food, which tasted even better than it looked, down to the color-coordinated table linens & gerber daisies were practically perfect in every way. Hope you had a great weekend.

I'm coming to realize that my Grandmother, who could have been classified as a clothes hoarder, was on to something. Fashion is cyclical, my friends. Happy Cinco de Mayo to all.

Mr. Newtown approached me a couple weeks ago as I was leaving the Brooklyn Flea and asked to take photos of my outfit {also seen here} for Maybelline's NYC365 feature. Weekend Update - Family Fun

As mentioned last week, I had a couple special visitors this past weekend. Our time was consumed with lots of shopping and [perhaps too much] eating with a little sightseeing in between.
