Reuse & Recycle

H&M Dress and Sweater (similar here) | Sam Edelman Booties (similar Dolce Vita pair here for $60 less) | Vintage Sunnies | Mac 'Pink Nouveau' Lipstick

If you haven't noticed (here & here and here & here to name a few), I've been working to remix different items in my wardrobe this year to a) curb my shopping excessiveness and b) hopefully inspire you to wear different items of your own in new and unexpected ways. I threw a sweater on over this dress, first photographed here, and these booties to do exactly that for a more casual/comfy look last weekend. Also, a very happy birthday to my loving mother today. Counting down the minutes till I go home to celebrate in a couple weekends. Happy Birthday, Mom!

Buttoned Up

H&M Dress & Necklace | Zara Leather Jacket (similar here) | Arden B. Booties (similar here) | Chanel Bag | OPI 'Do You Lilac It?' Nails | MAC Pink Noveau Lips

The buttoned up look has been a trend that I just have not been able to successfully pull off for a while now...until I found this flowy little sleeveless dress at H&M. Out of the clear blue sky it worked so I paired it with a neon bib necklace also from H&M for $9.95 (similar, more sparkly one here I'm also thinking about getting). Also, head on over to Sarah's blog, where I'm guest posting today!

Ice, Ice Blue

H&M Lace Top, Pants,  Bag & Necklace | Zara Fur Coat | Vintage Nude Heels

And for the last of the fashion week looks: a monochromatic powder blue ensemble brought to you in part (or whole in this case) by H&M. The light blue hues and lucite necklace served to mimic the ice that I not-so-gracefully skated around on all day for the Jen Kao, Herve Leger and Alexander Wang shows. Special thanks to my dear friend Kat for snapping these photos. Have a great weekend!

Four Fab Target Finds (and 20% off!)

Zara Tweed Jacket | Target version $39.99 (I saw an instagram of it in store and its much more neon in person vs.  the true yellow as shown on the website)
Zara Neon Heels | Prabal Gurung for Target version $39.99

Zara Black Heels | Prabal Gurung for Target $39.99
Frye Riding Boot $348 | Target version for $74.99
The other day I was poking around on the Target website after buying some of the bare necessities -  including these $39.99 Prabal Gurung pumps & this one piece (ok, not necessary) - and came across a couple 'Looks for Less' items previously featured right here on the old blog. The Prabal Gurung goods are going fast so I wouldn't hesitate. And they also have free shipping and 20% off orders over $75 online sooooooo chop, chop.

Snow Suit

H&M Fur Coat (similar here) | my boyfriend's stocking hat (similar here) | Forever 21 Leather Pants (similar but much better here and here) | Chanel Bag | Arden B. (knock-off Rag & Bone) booties

Sorry for the delay there. A crazy work week followed by some sort of awful flu took me out. To continue on my fashion week outfits, I wore this the Friday of Nemo trudging around the city in arguably one of the worst rain/sleet/snow storms in NYC history. Knew I needed something warm so went with leather pants, a fur coat and these Rag & Bone knock-off booties for the Jason Wu, Helmut Lang and Rag & Bone shows.

Dress Up

Alexander Grecco Tulle Skirt via Anthropologie | Forever 21 Sweatshirt & Booties (similar but somuchbetter here, another pair on sale here and a sparkly little pair here) | Chanel Bag | Zara Leather Jacket & Necklace (similar here) | OPI 'Do You Lilac It?' Nails | MAC Pink Noveau Lips

One of the many things I love about fashion week is not just the shows but the excuse to dress up like Carrie Bradshaw and no one bats an eye. I've had little reason to wear this skirt since Halloween but broke it out this weekend, like I said I would do in this post. Paired it with this heather gray sweatshirt which has the perfect amount of metallic sparkle in the knitting and a sparkly necklace I picked up at the Zara post-holiday sale. Rounded out with pink lips and purple nails for an extra girly look.

Fall 2013 Fashion Week Faves

{ahmazing chandelier in the middle of the runway at Jason Wu}
Big (HUGE) weekend with New York Fashion Week going on around town. Despite the unfortunate arrival of Nemo, I made it to shows I have dreamed about going to for 3+ years now starting off and ending with a bang (Jason Wu and Alexander Wang) with others in between that did not disappoint (Rag & Bone, Helmut Lang, Jen Kao and Herve Leger). I did my best to narrow it down to two photos per show but there are others on my Facebook page, Instagram and Vine account (username: Shanele; I'm an amateur so don't judge) for other photos and videos of the weekend. I am traveling this week for work but hope to make to a couple others before it all ends Thursday so be sure to follow along. Hope you all had a good one and weren't too affected by the storm.
{a romantic polka-dotted sheer gown at Jason Wu...and how cute is Bill Cunningham just right of the model}

{these are a few of my favorite things: leather, fur, polka dots, peplum & pleats (oh and Allison Williams in front of the model in the white) at Jason Wu}

{side swept low buns and natural makeup at Rag & Bone}

{bold blazers and other androgynous looks at Rag & Bone}

{an amazing coat with a big hood that would have come in handy while Nemo was in full force outside Helmut Lang}

{sheer, sparkle & leather dresses at Helmut Lang}

{a silk, flowy little number at Jen Kao}
{loved the heels and polka dot tights at Jen Kao}
{dramatic fur hoods at Herve Leger}

{sequin dresses and leather baseball caps at Herve Leger}

{unmatched sophistication and style (freaking unbelievable)...Alexander Wang Fall 2013}

{run, Alex, run (his infamous finale run that concludes each show)}

(lace) Dress & a (fur) Vest

Dolce Vita Dress |  Michael Kors Fur Vest (similar on sale here) | Balenciaga Bag | Frye Boots

I told you about this outfit here...but why not show you. Switched up this dress by adding a fur vest and these boots for a winter look. And I didn't lug my big camera around this weekend (my cell phone was actually dead for a portion of it, which was a nice change of pace) so this post will serve as a 'Weekend Update' substitute. Hopefully your post-Super Bowl Monday is relatively painless but before I sign off, lets discuss: how amazing was Beyonce? Holy lord. And of the few commercials I saw, God Made a Farmer...best...but could be because I come from one. Good day.
