{Urban Outfitters pants | H&M sequin top (similar here) | Zara scarf | Old Navy Flats | Vintage bag | Mac 'Peachykeen' Blush}
Oh hi. Remember me? I definitely did not forget about you. Promise. Have three months really gone by since I last posted? Oh my lanta. Tis the season for holiday parties and events, of which I have one every night this week and two per night this weekend. In terms of attire, obviously sparkle & texture are top of mind. I wore a version of outfit #2 at a Christmas party I hosted on Friday and look to don the others the remainder of the year (really? how.). Hope you are all doing well and we are able to see more of each other in the not so distant future.

Dress Up

Alexander Grecco Tulle Skirt via Anthropologie | Forever 21 Sweatshirt & Booties (similar but somuchbetter here, another pair on sale here and a sparkly little pair here) | Chanel Bag | Zara Leather Jacket & Necklace (similar here) | OPI 'Do You Lilac It?' Nails | MAC Pink Noveau Lips

One of the many things I love about fashion week is not just the shows but the excuse to dress up like Carrie Bradshaw and no one bats an eye. I've had little reason to wear this skirt since Halloween but broke it out this weekend, like I said I would do in this post. Paired it with this heather gray sweatshirt which has the perfect amount of metallic sparkle in the knitting and a sparkly necklace I picked up at the Zara post-holiday sale. Rounded out with pink lips and purple nails for an extra girly look.

Christmas Eve Attire

Anthropologie Necklace | Forever 21 Tee (similar here) & Pants | All Saints Coat | Zara Booties | J. Crew Infinity Scarf

I wanted to title this post 'What-to-Wear-to-Christmas-at-a-Trailer Park' but seemed a little long. This is indeed what I wore to a family Christmas...at a trailer park (you can pick your friends...). In my Grandma's defense, it's not your run of the mill park with people adorned in tweety bird and/or tazmanian devil tees way too big for their (already large) bodies...but a little subdivision full of elderly people that have lost their teeth due to age instead of tabacee (and crack).

I digress.

I did manage to find this little space between double-wides to take a few pics of what I wore to the family dinner and Christmas Eve service later that night. Since I began packing at 3:00 am before catching a cab at 5:00 am for my flight home, I managed to not bring anything festive (outside this shirt posted yesterday). Therefore I paired a simple gray crew-neck tee with this sparkly necklace for a festive look. There are certain things I refuse to spend a significant chunk of change on until I drop some tonnage...white pants being one of them (along with bathing suits). These Forever 21 ones are surprisingly nice for the $22.80 price tag (photographed here after an hour+ car ride stuffed in the back of my parents car) and actually really comfortable.

l'Orange et Rouge

Vintage Skirt (similar but better here) & Bag | Necessary Clothing Top | Zara Flats | Anthropologie (necklace worn as) Bracelet

Well, we made it through another one folks. Counting down the minutes till I'm back home in Illinois next Friday but until then will leave you with a little outfit post. Whether it's Easter, Passover or any other holiday I'm missing, have a great one this weekend! xo.

Mellow Yellow

Anthropologie Skirt (similar here) | Zara Bag & Denim Shirt (similar here) | Nine West Heels

It has gotten to that point. Where the gray winter days have to be lightened with bright colored pieces as I long for the summer months. What do you do to combat the cold weather blues?

J Brand Style Showdown: Vote for Me!

The oh so talented and sweet Sasha Grigorik sent me this photo last night so figured I would share my outfit from the IFB Conference Wednesday. Luckily I was selected as one of J. Brand's top 9 looks as part of their 'Style Showdown' contest. So this is where I need you: if I get the most votes, one lucky Shanelé follower will get a $300 J. Brand gift certificate. Click over to their Facebook page here and vote, vote, vote.  Follow Shanelé and leave a comment to let me know you voted (so I know who to give the $300 gift card too). Be sure to come back everyday and share with as many people as possible to put & keep me in the lead. The more the merrier so feel free to share with others and on your personal FB page! xo.

Winter White

Anthropologie Pleated Skirt | Zara Sweater (similar on sale here) & Booties (similar here) | Forever 21 Scarf

I wore this outfit on a spring-like Saturday night to a birthday dinner and drinks after. When I picked my boyfriend up in the cab, the first words out of his mouth upon seeing me were, "What are you wearing?" Later in the night a complete stranger on the street said, "I really love your outfit." I let her know that someone (while pointing to the boy) begged to differ. Regardless, it consists of a pleated skirt so that always makes me happy...especially this little gem that was buried among many others on the Anthropologie sale rack this weekend.

Champagne & Merlot

Zara Skirt & Top | H&M Fur Stole | Joe Fresh Tights | Steve Madden Booties

I wore this Champagne & Merlot look to consume copious amounts of...champagne & merlot on New Years Eve. A friend from home had a low key gathering at his house so I paired the sequin skirt with a champagne tee to dress it down a bit and topped it off with merlot colored tights and nails to ring in the New Year. A much-to-fun evening led to a rough Sunday start to 2012 but am confident it's going to be a great one. Happy New Year to all! xo

Blackout

Zara Lace dress (similar here) | Nine West Booties | Anthropologie bracelets | Forever 21 Earrings & Leopard Clutch

I wore this Saturday night to a couple holiday soirées. This Zara dress, purchased a while back (out of stock online), is super comfortable...so much so that I fell asleep in it at the end of the night (shocker). I had a bunch of left over glitter from my holiday party so I threw on a quick coat of red polish, sprinkled on the red glitter and topped with a clear coat for sparkly holiday nails (not that you can see it very well in these photos...darn you, daylight savings time).

Lace Dress version 1.0

Zara lace dress / Forever 21 tights & heels / H&M glasses, belt and bracelets
I found a blush lace dress on sale this weekend so, naturally, I bought it...and added it to my suitcase, which housed this Zara navy lace dress and last night unpacked both of these to hang along side the two black and two white lace dresses hanging in my closet. Do you see a trend here?? Lace dresses are my friend. Love that they satisfy business casual with tights and heels, going out with a fur vest or casual with flat boots and leg warmers.

Flower Child

Blouse - Anthropologie
Jeans - Target
Belt - Zara
Bag - Forever 21
Watch - Burberry

I had my eye on this Anthropologie blouse a while back. Loved the print and the billowy sleeves. While digging through the sale rack the other weekend, I noticed there was one lonely little blouse marked down from $88 to $30. I'll take it!

Torn

White Dress - Torn by Ronny Kobo
Booties - Nine West
Earrings - Forever 21
Bracelets - Anthropologie

I've decided after years of wearing Forever 21 and H&M shoes, it's time to start forking out a little more on kicks before my feet start looking like Frankenstein's. And thus, I present to you, these Nine West booties. Feel like a dream. I paired them with this white dress and red nails and lipstick for the last of my Fashion Week outfits.
xx,
Shanelé
