Oh hi. Remember me? I definitely did not forget about you. Promise. Have three months really gone by since I last posted? Oh my lanta. Tis the season for holiday parties and events, of which I have one every night this week and two per night this weekend. In terms of attire, obviously sparkle & texture are top of mind. I wore a version of outfit #2 at a Christmas party I hosted on Friday and look to don the others the remainder of the year (really? how.). Hope you are all doing well and we are able to see more of each other in the not so distant future.

Christmas Eve Attire

Anthropologie Necklace | Forever 21 Tee (similar here) & Pants | All Saints Coat | Zara Booties | J. Crew Infinity Scarf

I wanted to title this post 'What-to-Wear-to-Christmas-at-a-Trailer Park' but seemed a little long. This is indeed what I wore to a family Christmas...at a trailer park (you can pick your friends...). In my Grandma's defense, it's not your run of the mill park with people adorned in tweety bird and/or tazmanian devil tees way too big for their (already large) bodies...but a little subdivision full of elderly people that have lost their teeth due to age instead of tabacee (and crack).

I digress.

I did manage to find this little space between double-wides to take a few pics of what I wore to the family dinner and Christmas Eve service later that night. Since I began packing at 3:00 am before catching a cab at 5:00 am for my flight home, I managed to not bring anything festive (outside this shirt posted yesterday). Therefore I paired a simple gray crew-neck tee with this sparkly necklace for a festive look. There are certain things I refuse to spend a significant chunk of change on until I drop some tonnage...white pants being one of them (along with bathing suits). These Forever 21 ones are surprisingly nice for the $22.80 price tag (photographed here after an hour+ car ride stuffed in the back of my parents car) and actually really comfortable.

Holiday Update - 12/31/2012

{Greenwalt Christmas at my Aunt Jana's}
A great holiday week last week full of family gatherings and time spent with friends...really no better way to end the year. Here's a round-up of some of the weeks' events to compliment this post from last night. And now we're off to Chicago to ring in 2013 and then back to reality in New York on Wednesday. Wishing you all a fun and (most importantly) safe New Year's Eve!

Christmas with Kennedee

Because I'm obsessed with her (understatement), have way too many photos to fit in tomorrow's 'Weekend Update' post and who doesn't like looking at a cute baby, here is a sampling of my Kennedee photos documenting her first Christmas. Christmas is great in and of itself but having a little one around made things SO much more fun this year. Can't wait for the years to come. Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

Well...looks like we're having one in Illinois. I'm dreaming of a flight with no delays today (no chance). Hope you all have a great weekend with friends, family and other loved ones. Merry Christmas!

4 Company Cocktail Party Dresses

Black Halo Jackie O Dress

Amanda Uprichard Sheath Dress

Juicy Couture Lace Sleeve Dress

Derek Lam Leather Sleeve Dress
In the event you haven't had your Company holiday party yet, here are a couple dresses I wouldn't mind having in my closet to wear to mine. Some classics (like this Jackie O one and this lace-sleeved one) or those with an edge (like leather sleeved ones here and here). Pair with these heels or booties like these and get ready to rock the night away.

Weekend Update - 12/10/2012

{re-using the DIY 'Cheers' sign from last years party}
My word...am I sorry for the much-longer-than-anticipated interruption (Mary Jo). Work, holiday parties, guests in town have all consumed my life as we round out the rest of 2013.  This weekend I had a group of friends visiting from Illinois so started with my 2nd Annual Christmas party Friday night, Saturday wandered around Brooklyn and Sunday brunch in the West Village. Now another busy week with a day trip to Charlotte tomorrow and off to Miami Thursday for a wedding. Hope you all had a great weekend!
{much more fun using Christmas lights instead of regular lights}
{Christmas lights reflecting off the gallery wall I'm finally near finishing}

{sheepskin rugs and a tutu to add texture around my room}

{hats & scarves adorning the walls so as not to take up any additional space}

{my midget tree that fits nicely inside the built in book cases and thus doesn't take up any other space}

Day in the Life of a Farmer's Wife (Xmas Edition)

{one of 21 Christmas trees}
This summer I posted a few photos of my sister and her husbands farm house...but figured I would photograph it again when I visited last week to capture what a crazy Christmas lady she is. Everything little nook and cranny indoors and out decorated to the nines....since the end of October. Insane? Yes. But I am quite jealous that I don't have a house where I would most likely do the same.
{diy wrapping paper and variety of festive decor}

{lights & greenery around every...and I mean every window/banister/church pew/etc.}

{Another full fledge tree in the entryway and little decorations on an old coat rack}

{vintage food box filled with greenery & lights}

{love the old ice skates, suitcases and ironing board in the guest (aka my) bedroom}

{laundry room decorated perfectly just like mine...oh wait, I don't even have laundry in my building}

{old barn ladders decorated with greenery, old feed sacks and ice skates}

{their new shed...with the outside obviously decorated}
