Guess Who's Back

{Alexander Wang Spring '14 at New York Fashion Week}

Oh hi. I'm alive. Nothing better to get you amped up about blogging again like New York Fashion Week. My participation has been weak at best but I did make it to Alexander Wang Saturday afternoon. Kanye West was there and he asked where my shoes were from (these neon Zara ones)...I about freaking fainted. Sunday went to the Governors Island Art Fair, which I would highly recommend to all New Yorkers (weekends in September from 11-6). See more from both, as well as what I've been up to the last two months on my instagram and Twitter/Vine. I also put up two other posts from Cape Cod and a weekend at home last night if you're needing another distraction this Monday morning.

Weekend Update - 6/10/2013

{soaking up the sun and indulging in some BBQ and blues at Sunday's Big Apple BBQ Block Party}
Pretty much the quintessential New York weekend last weekend with every meal eaten outside at some festival and drink drank on some of the best rooftops in the City. After a torrential downpour Friday and a great classic Italian meal at Trattoria Pesce Pasta on my corner, Saturday morning I was destined to be outside the rest of the weekend. Started out with lunch at Smorgusburg followed by a party hosted by Topshop & Bulldog Gin at the James Hotel rooftop before ending the night at the Archive, where I learned my best friend Jenn got engaged (eek!). Sunday went to the Big Apple BBQ fest in Madison Square Park, then the rooftop at Pod 39 before ending the night with (yet another) pizza at my friend Pete's. Whew. So yeah, rooftops and rosé are the name of the game this summer. And now for more rain...

5 Things to do in New York this Weekend

Take advantage of the free wi-fi on the Highline: Ya heard? Thanks to Google, Chelsea (between Gansevoort and 19th streets and 8th Ave. and West Side Highway) is now wi-fi enabled. Other hotspots in Manhattan and Brooklyn include: Battery Park, Central Park, Tompkins Square Park, Thomas Jefferson Park, Holcombe Rucker Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Fort Green Park, Herbert Von King Park, McCarren Park and Prospect Park. {photo via}
Hells Kitchen Flea Market: This combines two things I love - being outside and bargains. I also never go to Hells Kitchen so it would be fun to explore another area of the City. Hours are Saturday & Sunday 9:00 - 5:00 year round. {photo via}
2013 NYC Winter Jazzfest: With 70 groups playing across six different venues around the East and West Village, looks like a pretty good opportunity to soak up some culture and here some great live music. Tickets are $35 for a one-day pass and $45 for a two-day. See the full schedule here. {photo via}
See the Documentary '56 Up': Up is a series of eight documentaries that track the lives of fourteen English school children since age 7 in 1964. Every seven years a new film is released and the most recent - 56 Up - is playing at the IFC Theater right by my house now (to be released to other cities soon). Watch the trailer hereHere's a list of 10 other documentaries as recommended by A Cup of Jo you can watch at home. {photo via}

Fashion & Technology Exhibit at FIT: This exhibit (ends May 8th) explores the impact of emerging technologies on the nature of fashion design and production over the past 250 years featuring 18th- to 21st-century examples from the museum's collection. Opens this Saturday at 10:00 am. {photo via}
Like I mentioned yesterday, supposed to be a beaut this weekend in New York (relatively speaking). I actually haven't checked the weather since three days ago when it said 58° because I refuse to accept anything less. Very well could have completely changed. Don't tell me if that's the case...because I plan on doing as many of the five things listed above, the first two of which involve being outside. Have a great weekend everybody!
