Oh, well hi there. No, I did not get into a boating accident in the Caymans...just a craaaazy month. Was out in the Hamptons this weekend for Memorial Day so figured I would snap some outfit pics because that 'It's Friday I'm in Love' post is getting mighty stale by now. My friend Elyse wore this neon little number on a bachelorette party in Arizona a couple weeks back. It was $34.95 so figured I needed it in my life...and then promptly wore to a wedding in Maryland paired with an equally bright necklace and neon nails. Bought these jeans (similar here) at Free People on sale for $29.99 and then another 50% before my shopping ban started this year. Paired with this denim shirt and booties (similar here) traveling home over the holidays and again back in the city for a Sunday of brunch and errands.

Similar to the last couple years, we spent NYE in Illinois at a friend's house for a welcomed low-key celebration. Also like last year, I decided to go with a sparkly skirt (on sale now here!) and dress it down with a more casual top like this J. Crew chambray one. Threw on my Zara booties (similar here) to pull it all together and partied (and maybe even danced like a complete idiot) the night away.

As mentioned Monday, a group of us went to the North Fork wine tasting last Saturday. And what better to wear on a party bus wine tasting than these cabernet colored toothpick cords. I must have sloshed at least a liter of red wine (minimum) on them and it blended in perfectly. Paired with a chambray shirt, polka dot scarf (similar here and here) and this Barbour jacket (borrowed from my friend JJ and love) for a perfect fall Saturday. Speaking of weekend, it's finally here and I'm off to Arkansas to visit one of my best friends Elyse. See you Sandy...and the horse wave you rode in on. Praying lights turn on, toilets flush and subways run upon my return Sunday night. Otherwise, I might be moving to Fayetteville. Have a good one everyone!

Island Dining

Wore this Club Monaco sweater (pretty much every day of the trip, in fact) over a blue pinstripe J. Crew shirt and white jeans for a brisk dinner on the water at Albergo Ristorante Verbano one of the first nights in Italy. Given it was on a secluded island, the restaurant sends a boat to pick you up at your hotel for a serene ride before dropping you off at Isola Superiore. The amazingness (not a word) didn't stop there. The food was probably some of the best of the trip (bold statement) with the freshest seasonal vegetables, rich flavors and interesting combinations of locally sourced specialties. This skirt (similar here) is definitely my most posted items (here, here, here) so sorry about that. But it is pretty representative of how much I wear it to jazz up a normally boring work outfit. I bought this barbie pink cardigan (similar here) from Zara a couple years ago on the simple basis that I absolutely loved the color. It has proven to be a nice transition piece as we enter spring but the weather still unfortunately calls for sweaters.

A pretty standard work outfit that I've worn on days with client meetings by simply throwing on a suit jacket. I typically try to jazz up boring old suits with my favorite color combos, in this case pink & navy, and fun necklaces/bags. Hope you all had a great weekend!
