Oh hi. Remember me? I definitely did not forget about you. Promise. Have three months really gone by since I last posted? Oh my lanta. Tis the season for holiday parties and events, of which I have one every night this week and two per night this weekend. In terms of attire, obviously sparkle & texture are top of mind. I wore a version of outfit #2 at a Christmas party I hosted on Friday and look to don the others the remainder of the year (really? how.). Hope you are all doing well and we are able to see more of each other in the not so distant future.

Fall 2013 Fashion Week Faves

Big (HUGE) weekend with New York Fashion Week going on around town. Despite the unfortunate arrival of Nemo, I made it to shows I have dreamed about going to for 3+ years now starting off and ending with a bang (Jason Wu and Alexander Wang) with others in between that did not disappoint (Rag & Bone, Helmut Lang, Jen Kao and Herve Leger). I did my best to narrow it down to two photos per show but there are others on my Facebook page, Instagram and Vine account (username: Shanele; I'm an amateur so don't judge) for other photos and videos of the weekend. I am traveling this week for work but hope to make to a couple others before it all ends Thursday so be sure to follow along. Hope you all had a good one and weren't too affected by the storm.

Biker Chic

It's not very often that I post the same article of clothing two weeks back to back but it's pretty representative of how much I've worn these boyfriend jeans since I've got them. Paired them last weekend with this black lace/peplum top for a casual night out. Speaking of weekend, I could not be happier that it's here. What a week. Hope you all have a great one! xo. 

South for the Winter

Remember the peplum shirt trend so near and dear to my heart over the last year...well that obsession has headed south into skirts now. Paired this emerald green Zara one (similar here and others I love here, here, and here) with a sheer polka dot sleeved black top (also seen here) and these Nine West pumps that have surprisingly held up for the last five years I've been wearing them to work for just another biz cas look for The Cube.

White on White

Just one more (similar here) in a series of H&M peplum tops that I own (see: here, here, here and here). This is really beginning to be a problem. Paired this white little number with a pair of Zara sale shorts and booties, which I'm proud to say were each under $20.

Light Pink Peplum & Lace

This lace "skirt" is actually a super-short Forever 21 dress that I purchased for less than $20 and flipped upside down to make it look like a pencil skirt. I gathered the top of the dress at my waist and belted,  which you can't even tell because the peplum goes out over the top. I would love to hear: what are some of your creative clothes transformations?

Perpetually Peplum

If you mash this and this together, what do you get? Today's look. For pete's sake, H&M, please stop making these peplum tops so I quit feeling obligated to buy them. They're just too cute. It's hard to make out in the photos but this one is a very light pink color which paired well with these blue Vince Camuto pants. Who knew they made pants? Really comfortable / cute / reasonably priced pants at that. Have a great weekend!

H&M, if you haven't been lately, killing it. This metallic leather peplum top (similar here) is a recent purchase along with this polka dot peplum top, this leather skirt...you get the drift. It's really a shame that there's one of these stores on practically every corner. I toyed with the idea of giving up shopping for Lent but that might lend itself impossible if Hennes & Mauritz keep this up.

Runway Recap: Farah Angsana Fall 2012

I simply cannot believe another Fashion Week has come and gone. Always such a whirlwind between planning outfits, hosting guests, finding ways to get into shows and sneaking away from work if I'm successful. The super sweet and generous Kiley of A Sequin Dress at Breakfast hooked me up with tickets to Whitney Eve and Farah Angsana on Wednesday. My Whitney Eve photos didn't turn out but here are a few from my front-row seat at Farah. Her pieces ranged from structured suits and peplum tops/dresses to flowy colorful fabrics that literally danced down the runway. Simply lovely.
