Pink & a Print

H&M Dress & Scarf (similar here) | Chanel Bag | Forever 21 Coat (similar here) & Booties (similar here)

Really starting to sound like a broken record. Here's another $29.95 H&M dress...which I bought for my sister-in-law in November. A couple weeks later it was marked down to $10. Annnnd, well, you know how this movie ends....that's why I'm wearing it here. Paired with a leopard scarf because I have a thing for pink & leopard. Have a great weekend!

Cassis in Brights v. 2.0

H&M One Piece, Sunnies & Bag | Zara Shorts | Forever 21 Sandals

Remember my use of a one-piece as a top a couple weeks back? Well, followed suit with this look worn first in Italy and then again in Cassis, France. It's perfect because it passes as a normal outfit yet you can shuck the shorts at any given moment to assume the tanning position. Fellow sun addicts will sympathize with said sense of urgency as we all join in a concerted effort to fight seasonal depression and soak up every last ounce of Vitamin D before the start of fall this weekend (really?). I digress.

Back to Cassis...which was a lovely little, unpretentious town (especially when compared to St. Tropez) positioned on what is said to be one of France's 'most breathtaking coast lines.' And I concur. Why you ask? Because of the huge limestone cliffs that span the 12 miles west of the town to Marseille. You can charter a boat, rent kayaks or, if you're feeling adventurous, hike along the rugged landscape through a series of eight different calanques (pronounced 'kalonk' not 'colonic' we discovered), a series of white sandy inlets and secluded beaches formed back in the day by glaciers. Given our short time frame, we rented a boat to explore all 8 calanques. As with pretty much everyone in Cassis, the guide did not know English but luckily the visual stimulants along the hour and a half ride spoke for themselves.
{boat ride through the calanques}

{secluded white sandy beaches accessible only by boat, kayak, or your own two feet (provided you're an expert rock climber)}
After the boat ride we walked to practically every restaurant in the bay before settling at the far west end at Le Bistrot for lunch because, again, it was one of the only ones with English on the menu. With relatively cheap daily specials, the restaurant was great but you really can't go wrong with moules frites or crêpes at any one of the restaurants in Cassis. A nap on the beach was then in order to digest...just before waking up for ice cream and a cocktail at Le Bada Café on the water.

Cassis in Brights

Ella Moss Shorts | Splendid Top | H&M Bag | Forever 21 Sandals (similar here) | Burberry Watch

Paired this bright blue top with these comfy Ella Moss shorts for the third leg of the trip which commenced in the French Riviera in Cassis, which much to my surprise, I actually liked more than St. Tropez. More to come on this later this week.

Greeny

Zara Dress (still on sale in some NYC stores) | Dolce Vita for Target Wedges | Forever 21 Bag

I tried to name this post 'Neon Lace'...but Blogger informed me I'd been there, done that and wouldn't let me publish it. Bringing me to the current title, which is pretty self explanatory unless you're color blind or something. But it is also my Dad's nickname. Now normally I would say Greeny doesn't have the fashion sense God gave a goose...unless Carharts, flannel shirts, (xxxl) flat-billed John Deere & AgriGold hats, and cut off bib-overalls (or 'swimming trunks' which he so elegantly pairs with Redwing work boots & white tube socks) are considered fashionable. But I've gotta hand it to him...because I've witnessed many a NYC hipster wearing most if not all of the above in one form or another. And with Greeny setting trends, hell should be freezing over at any given moment.

Friendly Reminder

Free People Dress | Aldo Sandals | Zara Bag | H&M Sunnies

I had my eye on this dress for my Austin trip but unfortunately it was on backorder. I took a look at it online from time to time but couldn't justify spending $118 on another Free People sundress. My friend Courtney clued me in yesterday that it was at Nordstrom Rack in Union Square. No sooner had I finished reading her text and I was out the door to make it mine for a fraction of the price ($49.99). Sure it may be a tad bigger than I would normally wear but that's what belts are for. They also had this shirt for $30 (on sale for $34 here), these jeans in all different washes and many more pieces that are otherwise full price in stores as we speak. So let this serve as your friendly reminder to get there while the gettin's good.

Zara Sale x2

Zara Dip Dye Boyfriend Jeans (similar here) & Sweater | American Apparel Bandeau | Forever 21 Sandals (similar here) & Bag (similar here)

Two Zara sale items (similar jeans here) combined into one outfit that I've made work for summer Fridays at the office and a night on the town later that evening. The sweater is lightweight and flowy enough to withstand the heat and paired nicely with a white bandeau that peaks out the back. Finally threw on a simple summer sandal (with hot orange toes) and this mint purse, which I can't seem to stop wearing for the life of me.

Hi-Low

Necessary Clothing Dress (similar here) | Nine West Heels | H&M belt | Necklace as bracelet (unknown)
I try to stay out of stores like Necessary Clothing because I typically buy a bunch of cheap / unnecessary items and never end up removing the tags. This dress, however, does not fit in that category. I loved the rich coral color and paired it with a turquoise necklace-worn-as-bracelet for a late Spring / early summer look at a party in Soho Saturday night.

Something Blue

H&M Dress | Zara Jacket & Bag (similar) | Nine West Heels | Forever 21 Jewelry

You have no idea the blood, sweat and near tears after almost missing my flight last Thursday that went into securing this dress. I saw it on Monday, made daily trips and phone calls to 4 different H&M stores and about 2 hours before I was supposed to fly out for a wedding, finally got it. If any of you are in this same predicament and call a store looking, start off by saying it's part of the the 'Trend' line and giving them the SKU 068306. I absolutely love the electric blue color (also comes in neon yellow), the fit/material couldn't be more flattering and it's only $49.95. Unfortunately I failed to get a photo of my favorite part of this dress...the sheer covered deep scoop back.  I recommend to anyone needing a fun new spring / summer dress.

Neon

Zara Sweater | Forever 21 Jacket & Pants (similar here) | H&M Necklace | Nine West Heels

Here's one look of this past weekend's NYFW outfits. I couldn't pass up this sweater at Zara the other day. Neon. Deep 'v' back. Done and done. These Forever 21 faux leather pants (similar here and first shown here) and python Nine West heels have been treating me well the last couple weeks too. Speaking of treating me well, you know what I'm going to ask for every day from now to next Monday, right?

If you haven't already and even if you have, I would love for you to pop on over to J. Brand's 'Style Showdown' contest on Facebook and vote for me. One Shanelé follower will get a $300 J. Brand gift certificate. Follow Shanelé and leave a comment to let me know you voted (so I know who to give the $300 gift card too). I'm currently in first and with your daily votes hope to keep it that way! xo.
