Punkin Pants

Lace / Silk Top - Madewell
Pants, wedges - Zara similar here
Jewelry, bag - Vintage

Another fall work outfit built around a pair of Zara pants (go figure). But more importantly I'd like to highlight this Madewell top that combines two of my absolute favorites: silk and lace. The olive green color is just an extra added bonus. Instead of the wedges I actually paired this look with a pair of platform loafers to make it a little more seasonally appropriate. I continue to hope that if I dress for fall, the humidity will drop below 94% (yes, 94% yesterday). Really over summer at this point.

Below-the-Knee

Dress - Forever 21
Wedges - Lucky Brand
Floppy hat - H&M
Bag - Vintage
Bracelets - Club Monaco, H&M, Madewell

I wore this outfit last weekend to work at a trade show and a couple times thereafter. According to the calendar it is technically fall but you wouldn't know it in NYC. Lightweight, below-the-knee dresses like this Forever 21 gem are perfect for the balmy weather we continue to experience. The longer length and conservative neckline make it perfect for work as well, which always helps justify a clothing purchase. Although, at $24.80 there was little justifying needed.

Weekend Update - 9/26/2011

{shellin' corn with my dad on a picture perfect weekend}
I'm back in the Big A after a great week in the Midwest. I left Chicago on Friday to spend a weekend at home with the fam during my favorite part of the year: fall harvest. It was so nice seeing lots of family and friends between attending two different wedding receptions on Saturday. Wish I could have soaked up a little more of that crisp, clean Midwestern air but for now its back to my hotbox apartment in the big city. Hope you all had a great weekend!

MBFW Color Inspiration

I haven't had a chance to make it through all the Spring 2012 shows online but stumbled across 'Note to Self's post above and we share a lot of the same favorites. The neon craze that is expected to completely take over next Spring fits nicely with my love for bright colors.

Flower Child

Blouse - Anthropologie
Jeans - Target
Belt - Zara
Bag - Forever 21
Watch - Burberry

I had my eye on this Anthropologie blouse a while back. Loved the print and the billowy sleeves. While digging through the sale rack the other weekend, I noticed there was one lonely little blouse marked down from $88 to $30. I'll take it!

Torn

White Dress - Torn by Ronny Kobo
Booties - Nine West
Earrings - Forever 21
Bracelets - Anthropologie

I've decided after years of wearing Forever 21 and H&M shoes, it's time to start forking out a little more on kicks before my feet start looking like Frankenstein's. And thus, I present to you, these Nine West booties. Feel like a dream. I paired them with this white dress and red nails and lipstick for the last of my Fashion Week outfits.

Green Leopard

Skirt - J. Crew
Blouse, heels - Forever 21 similar here and here
Earrings, bag - Vintage
Ring, glasses - H&M

I wore this outfit to work last Tuesday in hopes I would luck into an invite to the J. Crew fashion show. No luck on the show but upon checking it out online, turns out there was an identical look (#10 here). Great minds...Jenna Lyons. Now can I please be your assistant? Some day...but until then I'm off to Chicago today for drinks with my best gal pals tonight and then work the remainder of the week. Very excited.

Weekend Update - 9/19/2011

{Williamsburg Bridge on a calm, crisp fall evening}
Another busy weekend consumed with working a Trade Show on Saturday at the Chelsea Art Museum, which I loved, a little bit of thrifting and spending time with Ms. Francoz, who made a quick trip up from Charlotte for the weekend. The chaos continues right through to the week: going to the Giants / Rams game tonight before I'm off to Chicago on Tuesday for work (yay)! Hope you had a great weekend!

Silk skirt - Aritzia similar here
Lace up wedges - Lucky Brand

...And here's Saturday's day-to-night look. This Aritzia skirt feels like heaven on and these new Lucky Brand wedges (who even knew they had shoes...really cute shoes, at that) - walked in for hours on end with no complaints. Can't decide which is more comfortable. Overall a very versatile look that was well suited for a long day of fashion fabulous events.

NYFW Friday

Suede jacket, leather bracelets - H&M
Tank - Forever 21
Snakeskin purse - Zara
Jeans, earrings - Urban Outfitters
Heels - Vintage
Bracelets - Anthropologie,  Club Monaco, Madewell
Watch - Burberry

This was my day-look to roam around the city for brunch and to stalk a couple shows last Friday. Speaking of shows, I was a dresser for the first time at last night's Sachika show. Words cannot describe how excited I still am about this (i.e. I hardly slept a wink). It was AMAZING to see how it all works behind the scenes...I was literally so happy I shed tears of pure joy as we waited to send the first batch of models out. Best half day of PTO EVER spent and praying I luck into another one these opportunities the last couple days of Fashion Week.
